- THE TOM ALLPORT BAND
The Tom
Allport Big Band started in September of 1998. ,,,,We play
a variety of big band and jazz that ranges from music of
the Duke Ellington era to the smooth jazz sound of today.
,,,,We also have a nice selection of slow or up-beat Latin
tunes for those of you who like to spice it up a bit.
,,,,Nothing will make your event, party, or reception more
memorable than having a 14 piece big band kicking out great
standards and cool jazz. ,,,, The Tom Allport band has some
of Detroit, and Windsor’s finest musicians all in one group
playing live jazz. I’m sure you’ll agree that this band
really cooks! We use one to four vocalists including Joan
Crawford and Gary Sacco.

The Randy Brock Group was
formed in 1996 as a power trio with Randy Brock on guitar,
Mike Rowe on Bass and Brian Deming on the drums. The
line-up now features Sam Galizia on drums and Tony Karam on
keys. For the past 12 years, the band has been a
staple of the Detroit live music scene developing their

hardest working bands in Detroit. In addition to
local venues, Randy and the band have played all over the
country and opened for some of the

- THE BOBBY MURRAY BAND
Perhaps you have heard his
guitar work on The Sopranos or seen him on the Tonight
Show, Austin City Limits or Late Night with David
Letterman. If you have seen Etta James perform in the last
Twenty years then you have seen and heard Bobby Murray. As
Robert Santelli of Downbeat says “He’s the one that makes
you take notice”. When legendary diva Etta James was on the
lookout for a blues guitarist to augment her Roots Band in
1988 it was Bobby who got the call. The transplanted
Californian has shared duties between Etta and his own band
in Detroit in recent years. His Detroit release “Live and
Lowdown” allowed Murray to explore new avenues. Few blues
guitarists working today possess the versatility Murray
commands and fewer still have the ability to move an
audience as he can. Born in Nagoya, Japan, Murray grew up
in a military family eventually landing in Tacoma,
Washington. He was in high school with Robert Cray and they
formed a band together. He met Albert King who became his
friend and mentor. He performed with Albert Collins off and
on for twenty years. Murray went on to record with B.B.
King and Robert Cray on the tune “Playing with My Friends”
on the Grammy Award winning album by B.B. King titled
“Blues Summit”. Murray has also recorded with John Lee
Hooker, Johnny Guitar Watson, Lowell Fulson, Taj Mahal,
Otis Rush, Percy Mayfield, Charlie Musselwhite, Johnny
Taylor, Otis Clay and Sugar Pie Desanto. Bobby now resides
in the Detroit area and regularly performs
here.
